Before you head up to La Maisonnette, you might want to stock up on some groceries and there are lots of choices in Napa, most of them located on Trancas Street.

You will find a great selection of organic produce and products at Whole Foods and Vallergas as well as some good take-out entrees and prepared meals if you don’t feel like cooking. They also both have on premise a butcher and fresh seafood. Explore Yountville

Yountville…a sleepy farm town forty years ago has since become a highlight on the Foodie pilgrim trail with the iconic French Laundry. For those of you who have not made plans months in advance to eat at Thomas Keller’s temple of gastronomy, here are some great drop-in things to do in Yountville, CA.

We enjoy the wonderfully prepared and presented lunches at Bistro Jeanty, with its friendly service and its authentic French bistro fare. When we are in the mood for a snack or as the French would say “goûter” we endure the jovial queue at Bouchon Bakery. Wine tasting? sip into Girard Winery. For a unique French eurostyle boutique, stop in at the Ma(i)sonry for art and home furnishings, many items sourced from the best French antique fairs. Other notables in Yountville; restaurants Ad Hoc, Bouchon, Redd, hotels/spas Bardessono and winery Domaine Chandon. The town runs a community pool at the Veterans Home most summer afternoons, great to take a quick dip with the kids.
